On May 19, I was honored to be among the guests of The Multiple Sclerosis Society of DC-Greater Maryland annual “Women On The Move” Luncheon. Each year, this popular fundraising event brings together Washington’s top philanthropists, friends, and supporters that share a commitment to creating a world free from Multiple Sclerosis. At the luncheon, guests learned about the challenges of the disease and how it impacts the lives of those affected, helped to raise funds for local programs & services, and made strides toward advancing national research efforts. Declaring a 2016 theme of “Together We Are Stronger,” the empowering environment created by the program united attendees in a mission to finding a cure. The words of featured speakers Sara & James Rosen resonated with guests, as they shared their personal story of life with MS from Sara’s initial diagnosis through the daily struggles and present challenges of living with the disease, and their dedication to overcoming it together.
